Tribute to late Councillor
A Service of Thanksgiving was held yesterday, St. George's Day, at the church of St Peter and St Paul, Shepton Mallet, for the life of Councillor Stephen Robinson who died suddenly aged 62 yrs.
Family, friends and council colleagues gathered to remember a popular man who, with his wife Margaret, gave unstinting service to the people of Shepton Mallet.
In his tribute, Cllr Ken Maddock, Leader of the Conservative Group at Somerset County Council, spoke of his commitment and enthusiam for a wide range of interests from community service to whippet racing.
'Stephen packed a lot into his life and will be remembered for his good humour, positive attitude and love of Shepton Mallet.'
