Call for Lib Dems to freeze council tax

nThe Tory Opposition has called on the Lib Dems to impose a freeze on council tax next year.

KennMaddock said, We all know how tough things are just now.n What with basic things like food, petrol and electricity going through the roof pricewise.n And as if that was not enough, many people are having trouble paying the mortgage and unemployment is rising.

This is no time to kick people when they are down.n So the County Council should do its bit to help.n I challenge the Leader of the Council to freeze council tax and impose a zero increase for next year.

The Liberal Democrats have doubled council tax since they have been in office.n They have borrowed up to the hilt.n And they have received a record pay-out from central government this year.n They can well afford to give people a break.n So come on, Somerset.n Have a heart.n Say you will freeze next years council tax now.
