LIB DEMS NOT PROVIDING FOR SOMERSET

Lib Dems at Somerset County Council have been accused of wasting taxpayer's money on an unnecessary advertising campaign.
The Lib Dems are spending a quarter of a million pounds on their 'Providing For Life' campaign, that has appeared on buses and bill-boards and in newspapers across the county recently.
This comes at the same time as the Lib Dem-run Council has made cuts to essential services including repairing pot-holes, preventing flooding, and supporting vulnerable people.
Ken Maddock, Leader of Somerset County Council's Conservative Group, commented on the Lib Dem's decision to spend £250,000 on publicising themselves while cutting essential budgets. He said "I am stunned that they can plead poverty when making cuts to key, front-line services, but then have money to burn when it comes to self-publicity.''
He added, "I am not sure it is of much comfort to motorists juddering from one pot-hole to another that they can look out of their car window and see a poster telling them just how great a job the Lib Dems think they are doing.''
