SHADOW MINISTER CALLS FOR MORE JOBS FOR SOMERSET

Caroline Spelman, MP, took time out of her day yesterday to meet with Conservative Councillors in Somerset.

Visiting Somerset for the Southwest Launch of the Conservative Party's European Manifesto, the Shadow Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government met with Conservative County Councillors to support their campaign for the County Council elections on June 4th.

Ken Maddock Conservative Group Leader on Somerset County Council spent time with the MP, and commented afterwards, "I am pleased to have welcomed the Shadow Local Government Secretary to Somerset, and was very interested to hear of her plans for local government under a Conservative administration. A Conservative government would create direct incentives to attract new businesses to Somerset. Unlike the Lib Dems, the Conservatives in Somerset support the expansion of Hinkley Point that will create 2,500 jobs and boost the economy of Somerset.''
